A Malaysian paintball community report published in May 2005 stated that Raskal had been formed in 2003 by a group of regular players at Xtion Paintball in Sunway Xtreme Park.[1] A later history of Malaysian paintball included Raskal among the teams it considered influential in the development of the sport in Malaysia.[3]

Raskal placed fourth in Division 1 at the 2007 Independence Cup, behind Datis, Reaper and Xtioneer.[4]

=== 2008 season ===
The May 2005 account described Raskal as a team formed by paintball enthusiasts who regularly played at Xtion Paintball.[1]

=== Later appearances ===
=== 2019 ===

The Raskal name continued to appear in Malaysian competition after the establishment of Raskal Sports. At the 2019 Kuching Paintball Open and EPS fourth-leg finale, Team Raskal defeated Nemesis Legion in the Open Division final. Nemesis Legion nevertheless won the overall 2019 season championship.[28] A contemporary newspaper report listed the winning entry as Raskal KL.[29]
Raskal finished second in Division 1 at the Brunei Darussalam Paintball Open in 2019, behind Nemesis Legion and ahead of Brunei's Leakside Jokerz Aisawan.[11]

These later records establish continued competition under the Raskal name but do not, by themselves, document an unchanged roster from the team's earlier seasons.

[[Raskal Sports]] is a Malaysian paintball equipment supplier and event operator founded in 2016.[2] Although later sources associate the business with teams and players competing under the Raskal name, the company is not the same subject as the tournament team, which was documented more than a decade earlier.
== Related names ==

In 2018, Planet Eclipse reported that Raskal Sports assembled a scratch team of sponsored players for the NXL Asia event in Australia. That entry won the Open Division under the name Raskal Sports.[30] Because the source expressly describes it as a scratch team, the result is not included in Raskal Malaysia's tournament table.

History

[edit]

Early competition

[edit]

The May 2005 account described Raskal as a team formed by paintball enthusiasts who regularly played at Xtion Paintball.[1]

In January 2008, Raskal won the Pendekar division at the 2008 Pengerang Open, ahead of Flanker, Xtioneer and Zealous.[2]

During the 2008 Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit, Raskal finished third at the opening round and won the second and third rounds. They also won the Open division at the Sultan of Kedah Cup.[6]

2009–2012

In January 2010, Raskal won Division A at the 2010 Sarawak Cup, ahead of Nemesis, Deltarovers and Beezwaxers.[3] They also won Division 1 at the opening round of the 2010 Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit.[8]

Raskal won the Open division at the 2011 International Super Seven Championship in Putrajaya, ahead of Global Gutz Dragon, Nemesis Legion and Beezwaxers.[4]

They began the 2012 Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit season by winning Division 1 at the opening round at Xtion Paintball Park.[9]

2013 World Cup Asia

Raskal Malaysia reached the Division 1 final at the 2013 Paintball World Cup Asia in Langkawi. They defeated Xtioneer 1–0 in the semi-final before losing the final 4–3 to South Africa's Dynamix.[5]

The contemporary report identified Hamman Amin as Raskal's team manager. Datis finished third and Xtioneer fourth.[5]

2014

[edit]

Xtion Paintball Park described Raskal Malaysia as its house team in 2014. The venue reported that Raskal won tournaments in Singapore in March and India in April.[10]

Raskal then won the inaugural Napshot Invitational Paintball Challenge on 21–22 June. Xtion described this as the team's third tournament victory of the year.[10]

2019

[edit]

Raskal finished second in Division 1 at the Brunei Darussalam Paintball Open in 2019, behind Nemesis Legion and ahead of Brunei's Leakside Jokerz Aisawan.[11]
