The announcement noted that paint pricing could change depending on the United States dollar exchange rate.[1]

The precise playing venue has not been independently established from the surviving announcements.

== Prizes ==

The tournament advertised a prize package for its leading teams.[1]

The proposed overall first-place prize included a large trophy and seven 29-inch colour televisions.

A trophy and potentially additional paintballs were advertised for the Plate winner.

Other proposed prizes included uniforms and paintball harness packages for entire teams.

The surviving records do not establish whether all advertised prizes were ultimately awarded.

Pre-event discussions identified several New Zealand tournament teams preparing to attend.

'''Menace''' and '''Menace Blue''' were specifically announced as intended entrants in January 2005.[1]

Other discussions concerned preparations by Flashpoint and players associated with established New Zealand tournament teams.

These records document intended participation but do not provide a complete confirmed entry list.

A subsequent discussion published in June 2005 referred positively to the completed Wellington tournament and acknowledged its organisation.[3]

The event formed part of the same NZPPA programme that included the [[2005 Auckland Queen's Birthday Superball]] at Kumeu Showgrounds in June.

== Historical records ==
The advertised first-place prize comprised a trophy and seven 29-inch colour televisions. Other proposed prizes included a Plate trophy and team uniform and harness packages.[1]

The principal surviving source is an archived ezboard discussion titled ''Wellington Easter 2005'', which began on 29 December 2004.[1]
== Entries ==

The discussion preserves the advertised arrangements and correspondence concerning team preparation and paintball supplies.
On 25 February 2005, the organisers reported five paid entries: Saints, Menace, HSR, Fallen and Flashpoint. They warned that insufficient entries could lead to cancellation. A reply stated that entry payments for two Hybrid teams had been sent.[2]

An additional forum discussion announced the availability of tournament entry forms in January 2005.[4]
On 27 February, Menace requested confirmation of entries for both Menace and Menace Blue. Later that day, the organisers reported eleven prospective teams, including three new TAG-associated entries, and confirmed that the tournament would proceed. These figures describe pre-event registrations and intentions rather than a final attendance list.[2]

The original results sheet and full tournament classification have not been recovered.
The tournament subsequently took place. A June 2005 participant account credited Rob Blitz with its organisation.[3]

2005 Wellington Easter Tournament was a seven-player paintball tournament held on 26–27 March 2005 in the Wellington region of New Zealand. It formed part of the New Zealand Paintball Players Association (NZPPA) tournament programme.[1][2][3]

Organisation

[edit]

The tournament was announced on 29 December 2004, with a captains’ meeting scheduled for 25 March 2005. Advertised entry was NZ$850 per team before 21 February and NZ$950 thereafter, with entries closing on 7 March. RPS Premium paint was advertised at NZ$85 per case, subject to exchange-rate changes.[1]

The advertised first-place prize comprised a trophy and seven 29-inch colour televisions. Other proposed prizes included a Plate trophy and team uniform and harness packages.[1]

Entries

[edit]

On 25 February 2005, the organisers reported five paid entries: Saints, Menace, HSR, Fallen and Flashpoint. They warned that insufficient entries could lead to cancellation. A reply stated that entry payments for two Hybrid teams had been sent.[2]

The tournament subsequently took place. A June 2005 participant account credited Rob Blitz with its organisation.[3]
