The 2000 Northland Open was a paintball tournament held on 27 February 2000 at Jubilee Park in Whangārei, New Zealand. Eight teams competed in a seven-player, two-flag format. Saints won with 700 points, followed by Katipo on 615. Crisis finished third overall and won Division Two.[1]
Organisation and venue
[edit]The tournament was organised by Brent of Strategy Tag and Paint Contractors. Paint Contractors, winners of the 1999 New Zealand Paintball Nationals, provided the marshalling rather than competing.[1]

Tournament
[edit]Crisis opened with a maximum-score victory over Black Dragon, losing two players. Warp Speed also defeated Black Dragon. Saints recovered from an early elimination against Havoc to win that game, and defeated Solidaire after countering a flanking move.[1]
The Havoc–Katipo game was stopped and restarted after Havoc began playing before the official start.[1]
