Sina Azmoudeh is a paintball filmmaker, video producer and broadcast executive known for his work documenting professional paintball competition. He is particularly associated with The Impact Series, a documentary web series following Canadian professional team Edmonton Impact, and with GoSports, which provided live coverage of the National Xball League (NXL).[1][2]

Azmoudeh has worked on documentary films, tournament broadcasting and paintball media projects, including The Rookie and Ultimate Shootout.[3][4]

Paintball filmmaking

The Rookie

Azmoudeh directed The Rookie, a 2013 short documentary following his brother, Omeed Azmoudeh, during his first year competing as a professional paintball player.

The film documented Omeed's experiences with the American tournament team Texas Storm.[5][6]

The production preceded Azmoudeh's later work on The Impact Series.

The Impact Series

In 2014, Azmoudeh began producing The Impact Series, a documentary following Edmonton Impact through its professional tournament season.

Produced through Pure Production and distributed in association with PbNation, the series documented the team's participation in Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) and the European Millennium Series.[1]

Azmoudeh filmed and edited episodes featuring tournament matches, training sessions, team meetings, international travel and activities away from competition.

The third episode covered the Millennium Series Mediterranean Cup in Puget, France. In accompanying promotional material, Azmoudeh acknowledged support from PbNation, PSP, the Millennium Series, Paintball Access and Impact owner Bart Yachimec.[7]

The original season consisted of ten episodes covering Impact's 2014 tournament campaign. A second season followed the team during 2015.[1][8]

The production was distributed online through PbNation and YouTube, with additional coverage appearing in specialist paintball publications.

Other video productions

Azmoudeh also produced videos documenting recreational and scenario paintball.

In June 2015, Paintball Headlines featured This Is Scenario Paintball!, a video produced by GI Sportz and filmed and edited by Azmoudeh.

The production covered the 2015 SuperGame scenario paintball event and featured Dan Bonebreak.[9]

GoSports

Azmoudeh subsequently became involved in professional paintball broadcasting through GoSports.

By December 2015, he was serving as vice-president and executive producer of Go Sports, the production organisation associated with NXL broadcasts.[2]

Go Sports worked with Casadonte Productions to provide live tournament coverage during the inaugural 2015 season of the revived National Xball League.

The broadcasts incorporated multiple cameras, instant replay and live graphics displaying scores and player eliminations.

A December 2015 announcement from broadcast technology company ChyronHego identified Azmoudeh in his executive role and discussed the use of its Lyric PRO, Graffiti and SHOUT systems during NXL broadcasts.[2]

The production partnership covered tournaments including the Great Lakes Open, Virginia Beach Open and the 2015 NXL World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida.

Azmoudeh's work with GoSports extended his involvement in paintball media from documentary filmmaking to live professional tournament broadcasting.

Ultimate Shootout

Azmoudeh was also involved in the development of Ultimate Shootout, a competitive paintball media project featuring individual players competing in one-on-one matches.

In 2020, he appeared in an interview with commentator Matty Marshall discussing the creation of the series and preparations for its third event.[4]

The interview, distributed through the professional paintball streaming platform later known as Major League Paintball Plus, also discussed his involvement with The Impact Series and GoSports.
