Editing 2009 USPL Huntington Beach Open

The '''2009 USPL Huntington Beach Open''' was the inaugural [[US Paintball League]] tournament, held from 3 to 5 April 2009 on the beach at Huntington Beach, California. DC Arsenal won the professional seven-player division.[1][3]

== Relationship to the NPPL ==
The USPL was established following Pacific Paintball's announcement that it would liquidate its businesses, including the [[National Professional Paintball League]]. The new league was owned by its professional member teams, with former NPPL president Chuck Hendsch serving as commissioner.[2]

Huntington Beach continued the former NPPL Super 7's seven-player format, using the 2008 NPPL rulebook with minor amendments. Many former NPPL professional teams participated.[1]

== Professional competition ==
Sixteen professional teams competed. DC Arsenal defeated San Diego Dynasty by two games to one in the final. Oakland Blast beat Los Angeles Infamous for third place.[1][3]
