== NXL competition ==
The tournament concluded the NXL regular season, establishing rankings for the World Cup playoffs. [[Oakland Assassins]] secured the Commissioner's Cup with an 8–7 victory over Baltimore Trauma. Oakland also held the Western Conference title; Trauma clinched the Eastern Conference by defeating Chicago Aftershock 11–7 on Sunday.[1]

Other Sunday results included Oakland's 12–5 win over Detroit Strange and New York Xtreme's 15–6 victory over San Diego Legacy.[1]

=== Equipment rules ===
The NXL introduced a 15-balls-per-second limit. Markers had to fire their first three shots semi-automatically, cease firing when the trigger was released, and reset to semi-automatic operation after a one-second release. Sound-based monitoring was used to check firing rates during play.[1]
