The team has competed in Malaysian and international events since at least 2011, including the Malaysian National Paintball League, Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit, Paintball Asia League Series, Paintball World Cup Asia, NXL Asia and Malaysian X Ball League.[1][2]

Waxers Legion was runner-up in the Open Division of the 2011 Paintball Asia Cup in Bali. Later results include a Division 2 victory at the 2016 Phuket International competition, third place at the 2016 Paintball World Cup Asia, an NXL Asia Open Division event victory in 2019 and a Malaysian X Ball League event victory in 2024.[2][3]

History

2011–2012

Waxers Legion placed third in the Amateur/Novice division of the 2011 Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, behind Dark Knights and Deadstar.[4]

In October, the team represented Malaysia at the Paintball Asia Cup in Bali, Indonesia. Waxers Legion finished second in the Open Division behind Global Gutz of the Philippines. Deltarovers of Malaysia placed third and FOPI 1 of Indonesia fourth.[1]

At the November finale of the 2011 Malaysian National Paintball League, Waxers Legion placed fourth in Division 2. Grammaton Clerics won the event and the overall season championship, followed at the finale by the Japanese team Nitamago and Johor Pirates.[5]

Waxers Legion was listed as a Malaysian Division 2 entrant for the 2012 Paintball World Cup Asia in Langkawi.[6] A final placing has not been established from the available contemporary report.

2013–2015

A PBLeagues tournament record identifies the team's home town as Kuching and its associated field as the Recreational Club Demak Abadi.[2] The record begins in January 2013.

During the 2013 Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit season, Waxers Legion placed second in Division 2 at the opening event. It again finished second at the third event, which was held jointly as the PALS Malaysian Open, before placing fourth at the fourth event and fifth at the finale.[2]

At the 2013 Paintball World Cup Asia, Waxers Legion placed 17th from 28 recorded Division 2 teams. It improved to sixth from 22 Division 2 teams at the 2014 edition.[2][7]

The team returned for the 2015 Paintball World Cup in Langkawi, placing 13th from 28 Division 2 entries.[2]

2016–2019

Waxers Legion won Division 2 at the 2016 TPOC Gelkaps Phuket International in Thailand. It subsequently placed third from 17 teams in Division 2 at the 2016 Paintball World Cup Asia in Kuala Lumpur.[2]

In the 2017 Renegade Paintball Championship, Waxers Legion placed fourth at the opening event, won the second event and finished sixth at the third event, all in Division 2.[2] The team was also listed in the Amateur Division of the 2017 ASEAN Cup.[8]

A PBLeagues entry from the 2018 George Town International X Ball Cup used the name Beezwaxers Legion and is grouped within the same tournament record as Waxers Legion.[2] This alone does not establish whether the name represented a formal merger, a temporary combined roster or a registration variation.

Waxers Legion competed in the Open X-Ball division of the 2019 NXL Asia season. It placed seventh at the first event, sixth at the second and won the third event, defeating a ten-team field.[2]

2024 season

Waxers Legion competed in Division 1 of the 2024 Malaysian X Ball League. It placed fifth at the opening event, won the second event at Canyon Paintball Park in July and placed fourth at the third event in October.[2][9]

A separate 2024 Malaysian tournament report described Waxers Legion as a Planet Eclipse-supported team and recorded a fifth-place Open Division finish.[10]

Relationship with other Waxers teams

Sarawak tournament records contain several separately entered teams using the Waxers name. These include Beezwaxers or Beez Waxers, Junior Waxers, Hornet Waxers, Cranky Waxers, Ibra Waxers, GPP Waxers and Bossku Waxers.[4][11][12]

At the 2011 Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, Beez Waxers competed in the Open Division, Waxers Legion in the Amateur/Novice division and Hornet Waxers in the Rookie division.[4] Their simultaneous entry in different divisions demonstrates that the names represented distinct tournament entries at that event.

The available sources suggest a wider Sarawak Waxers identity but do not establish its ownership, organisational structure or roster-development system. Results belonging to the other Waxers entries are therefore not included in Waxers Legion's record.
