Team Apocalypse

From WikiPaintball

Apocalypse, also referred to as Team Apocalypse, was an Auckland-based New Zealand paintball team documented in the late 1990s. The team entered Division Two tournament competition after its members first played a social game at Tactics in late 1996.[1]

History

[edit]

The contemporary New Zealand Paintball team directory lists Apocalypse in its Auckland section. Its account states that the players first tried paintball at Tactics towards the end of 1996 and subsequently entered a Division Two competition organised by Dave Pellet.[1]

According to the directory, Apocalypse entered its first tournament without equipment of its own and without previously having played together as a team. The entry describes subsequent progress during the season and a reduction in the playing group to five members.[1]

Players

[edit]

A contemporary profile identifies Alex Irvine as an Apocalypse member, describing his position as “Rainmaker” and forward.[2]

Irvine reported playing paintball since 1996. He recalled eliminating four opponents on two occasions during a Division Two tournament, although his profile does not identify the event or date.[2]
