Serial Mexicano de Paintball

From WikiPaintball

Serial Mexicano de Paintball (SMP) was a Mexican paintball tournament series whose formation was dated to early 2005 in a 2009 UNAM study by Saraí Fuentes García.[1]

History

[edit]

According to Fuentes García, SMP arose when the organisers of Road To World Cup and PGP Masters Cup combined their competitions in early 2005. The study identifies Mario Khan of Xtreme Planet and Paolo Dezi of Planet Gotcha Paintball as the organisers involved.[1]

Both earlier series offered opportunities for Mexican teams to compete at the World Cup in Orlando, Florida. The study describes PGP Masters Cup as a five-event series.[1]

Fuentes García also names Pablo Mercado, Enrique García and Pepe Cagigal of Sykaryos Paintball among those involved in SMP's formation.[1]

Relationship with other leagues

[edit]

The study discusses SMP and MXball separately. It does not document a formal renaming of SMP as MXball, MPL or MXL.[1]
