Running Riot (paintball film)

From WikiPaintball

Running Riot is a tournament paintball film produced by DerDer Productions, documenting the 2005 season of the Xtreme Paintball Sports League (XPSL), a regional tournament series in the western United States.[1]

The film was the second instalment in DerDer's XPSL documentary series, following Seven X (2004) and preceding Vendetta, which covered the 2006 season.[2]

Content

[edit]

Running Riot focuses on tournament paintball competition during the 2005 XPSL season.[1]

The XPSL was a seven-player tournament circuit that developed from the earlier Pan Am Paintball Circuit. Its competitions included amateur, novice and rookie divisions, providing an organised regional tournament structure.[3]

The film documents this regional competitive scene rather than the national professional circuits featured in several other DerDer productions.

Production and release

[edit]

Running Riot was produced by DerDer Productions as part of its series of regional tournament paintball DVDs.

In November 2005, Bill Mills reviewed DerDer's Obscure Influence for WARPIG. He reported that the DVD included a preview of Running Riot, which was then being advertised as an upcoming release documenting the 2005 XPSL season.[1]

A January 2008 DVD catalogue subsequently identified Running Riot as the second film in DerDer's XPSL series, confirming its place between Seven X and Vendetta.[2]

The exact commercial release date and running time have not been independently established.
