PALS Thailand

From WikiPaintball

PALS Thailand was the name used for Thailand-hosted tournaments within the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS). Documented events included the 2010 Pattaya International Paintball Championship and subsequent Bangkok tournaments during the early and mid-2010s.[1][2][3][4][5]

History

[edit]

Pattaya, 2010

[edit]

The 2010 Pattaya International Paintball Championship took place on 13–14 March 2010 at the Thailand Sports Centre, Eastern Region, in Pattaya. It formed the opening round of the 2010 PALS season.[1][2]

Bangkok events

[edit]

The 2011 Bangkok event was held in May. Contemporary results identified Infernal as the Division 1 winner, Ryukyu Kings as the Division 2 winner and Sansook as the Division 3 winner.[3]

The official PALS Thailand website advertised the 2012 tournament for 2–4 March in Bangkok.[4]

The 2013 event was advertised for 28 February–3 March at Expressway Paintball Club. Its preview identified visiting teams and professional players from outside Thailand.[5]

Expressway subsequently hosted PALS Thailand in 2014 and 2015. Both events were officially listed as the opening leg of their respective PALS seasons.[6][7]

Competition

[edit]

The 2014 and 2015 Bangkok events offered three divisions using race-to-four, race-to-three and race-to-two formats respectively.[6][7]

The official registration records list 18 paid team entries in 2014 and 28 in 2015. These figures represent entries at individual tournaments rather than unique teams across the series.[6][7]

Website

[edit]

The official website at palsthailand.com published event information, including the 2012 dates. Contemporary 2013 coverage directed competitors to the same domain for tournament information, and the 2014 official registration listing also linked to it.[4][5][6]
