Hard2Overcome (Australian paintball team)
Hard2Overcome, also known as H2O, was an Australian competitive paintball team from Moe, Victoria. Its PBLeagues profile listed Monash Reserve in Newborough as its field.[1] The team competed in Victorian tournaments and New Zealand events, winning the 2015 Auckland Paintball Cup.[2][3]
History
[edit]Victorian competition
[edit]Hard2Overcome competed through Adrenalin Paintball Club in Newborough. In June 2013, the Latrobe Valley Express reported that the club's A-team had won the latest round of the Paintball Association of Victoria five-player series and led Division 1 after three rounds.[2]
The report also identified a second team, H2O Blue, which finished second at that event and led Division 2. Richard Cameron was identified as Adrenalin Paintball Club president and H2O Blue captain.[2]
In an August 2016 account published by DYE Asia, Nathan McDonnell reported that Hard2Overcome had finished second at each of the first two Victorian five-player series rounds that year.[6]
March 2015 Auckland Paintball Cup
[edit]Hard2Overcome travelled to New Zealand for the Auckland Paintball Cup, held on 7–8 March 2015 at Asylum Paintball. The team won Open X-Ball, finishing ahead of Clown Monkeys and Expendables.[3]
A contemporary tournament account published by DYE records Hard2Overcome defeating Clown Monkeys 4–2 in its opening match. The team later defeated ADHD 4–0 and reached the championship final against Clown Monkeys, winning 4–0.[4]
September 2015 Asylum Paintball Cup
[edit]Hard2Overcome returned to Asylum Paintball for the 2015 Asylum Paintball Cup, held on 26–27 September.[1]
In a team report published by DYE on 13 October 2015, Hard2Overcome described finishing its Saturday matches with one win, one draw and two defeats, followed by three wins and a draw on Sunday.[5]
The team qualified for the third-place match against Auckland Faction. According to the report, Hard2Overcome won 4–2 to finish third.[5]
Sponsorship
[edit]Contemporary DYE reports identify Hard2Overcome as a DYE-sponsored team. The September 2015 tournament account thanked DYE Precision, Devon Stutz and Paintball Addiction for their support.[5]
Nathan McDonnell also identified himself as a player for DYE teams nVs and Hard2Overcome in his August 2016 account.[6]
