Final Impact (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Final Impact was a Hamilton-based New Zealand competitive paintball team associated with the Final Impact indoor paintball field. The team was captained by the field's operator, Hugo Kappes, and finished second in the Plate competition at the 2004 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball.[1][2][3]
The team was distinct from other New Zealand paintball entries using the generic name Impact.
Field association
[edit]A contemporary 2004 field review identified Hugo as the operator of Final Impact, an indoor paintball venue at 46 Northway Street, Te Rapa, Hamilton.[2] The New Zealand Companies Register identifies Hugo Rowland Kappes as a director of Final Impact Limited.[3]
Contributor identification confirms that the tournament team represented the Hamilton field and that Kappes captained it. The recovered tournament report does not provide a complete roster, so no other players are assigned to the team.
2004 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball
[edit]Final Impact competed at the 2004 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball, held at Kumeu over Queen’s Birthday weekend. Thirteen teams attended from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and the South Island.[1]
Final Impact qualified for the Plate competition alongside Vicious, Havoc and HSR. It reached the Plate final, where it was defeated by HSR, finishing second in the Plate. The contemporary report does not publish Final Impact's preliminary score or a match score for the final.[1]
