Extreme X (New Zealand Paintball Team)

From WikiPaintball

Extreme X was a New Zealand competitive paintball team documented at the 2001 Northland Open. The team finished fourth overall, behind Saints, Phantom and Wellington Phoenix.[1][2]

The available evidence does not establish that Extreme X was the same organisation as the earlier team Kiwi Extreme. The similar names have therefore been treated as separate identities unless a roster or contemporary source establishes a relationship.

2001 Northland Open

[edit]

Extreme X competed at the Northland Open in Whangārei on 25 February 2001. Ten teams played seven-player, two-flag games under New Zealand Paintball Players Association rules.[1]

Extreme X scored 595 points and placed fourth in the combined standings:[1][2]

Position Team Points
1 Saints 900
2 Phantom 755
3 Phoenix 730
4 Extreme X 595

The contemporary tournament report identifies Kyn and Vanessa as Extreme X players and describes both as former Black Dragon members.[1] Kyn is identified as Kyn Jackson through contemporary records concerning Actions Paintball and his player profile.[3] A participant identification gives Vanessa's name at the time as Vanessa Jackson, now Vanessa Page; the recovered tournament report itself provides only her first name. A complete Extreme X roster has not been recovered.

The former Black Dragon association concerns the two named players. It does not establish that Extreme X was a renamed or successor Black Dragon organisation.
