Decay of Nations 6

From WikiPaintball

Decay of Nations 6, officially promoted as Decay of Nations VI: The World Is Yours, was the sixth edition of the American scenario paintball event Decay of Nations. It was held on 13–14 October 2012 at SC Village in Chino, California, with registration and preparations beginning on 12 October.[1]

The event featured a fictional conflict between the United North Americas (UNA) and the Ekron Corporation (EKRON), continuing the storyline developed during earlier editions of the series.[1]

Background

[edit]

The sixth edition was announced in February 2012, with the organisers promoting it as a major annual scenario paintball gathering on the West Coast of the United States.

The event was organised through SC Village and its associated Giant Paintball Parks organisation.

Chris Iaquinta, Director of Marketing and Special Events for SC Village, Hollywood Sports and Giant Paintball, coordinated advance communications with participating teams.

An organisational meeting was scheduled for 18 February 2012 at Hollywood Sports in Bellflower, California, to discuss commanders, event rules, storyline developments, vehicles and other scenario equipment.[1]

Scenario

[edit]

The 2012 event carried the subtitle The World Is Yours.

The fictional storyline followed the defeat of the United North Americas by an alliance between the United Asia empire and the Ekron Corporation.

Following its victory, EKRON controlled communications and information through the capture of the Keys of the Internet, while the remaining UNA population was subjected to political re-education.

The scenario centred on EKRON's dependence on diminishing fossil fuel reserves and the discovery of historical UNA technology.

An Ekron expedition uncovered information about SkyFire, an orbital laser defence system originally developed by the UNA.

Members of the UNA resistance, known as the Shadow Force, attempted to reactivate SkyFire while EKRON sought to secure new fuel resources in an area known as the Southern Wilds.

These competing objectives formed the narrative basis for the event's conflict between UNA and EKRON.[1]
