His documented activities include fundraising for the team’s European campaign and organising New Zealand race-format tournaments.[1][2]
Paintball activities
[edit]Expendables European campaign
[edit]In April 2017, David and Diane Hopkins established the Expendables Europe Trip fundraising campaign on behalf of Expendables Paintball Team.[1]
The campaign described Expendables as a Feilding-based team competing in Australia and the European Millennium Series. It sought assistance with airfares and accommodation for the remaining events of the 2017 season.[1]
Tournament organisation
[edit]A Ballistics Unit report published on 28 March 2020 thanked Hopkins and Paintball Factory following the first New Zealand Race Series event. The team reported finishing second behind Expendables.[3]
In an interview published by Air Tahiti Nui in October 2023, Ralph Tsing identified Hopkins as the organiser of the final New Zealand Race Series round at Arena Paintball.[2]
Tsing stated that Hopkins had invited him to assemble a Tahitian entry for the event. The resulting Phoenix Tahiti squad included players from French Polynesia, Australia and South Africa and finished third.[2]
