Boston Paintball

(Redirected from Boston Paintball Supply)

Boston Paintball is an American paintball business established in 1992 by Anthony Vitale. Based in Massachusetts, its activities include operating playing fields, retailing equipment and developing custom markers. It is associated with the Twister marker range, Committed Paintball and the New England Paintball League.[1][2][3]

History

[edit]

Boston Paintball began operating in a Boston warehouse in 1992. Its original indoor operation moved between locations over subsequent years, including a facility in Chelsea. The business also developed playing sites outside Boston.[2][4]

Alongside field operations, Boston Paintball became involved in custom Autococker development. Its Express series preceded the Twister, which emerged in 1997 following development work during late 1996 and early 1997.[5]

In March 2013, the company launched Committed Paintball as a new division. Committed continued the business's retail and custom-marker activities, including the next generation of Twister products.[5]

Playing fields

[edit]

As of October 2026, Boston Paintball's main website lists two playing locations: Ashland and Maynard/Sudbury.[6]

The Ashland site offers indoor and outdoor play, including themed fields and a small indoor airball field. The Maynard/Sudbury site offers outdoor woodsball, tournament airball and a city-style field. The business provides both conventional and low-impact paintball.[6]

Boston Paintball previously operated an indoor facility in Chelsea, documented on its retained Chelsea location page.[4]

Custom markers

[edit]

Twister series

[edit]

The original Twister Autococker developed from Boston Paintball's Express series. Its distinctive milling followed curved lines around the marker body, giving the appearance of a twisted surface.[5]

According to Committed Paintball's Anthony "T2" D'Ambrosio, the original design was approved by Anthony Vitale and developed in collaboration with LAPCO. Markers were assembled to order with customer-selected components. Early versions included the clamshell and 45-style milling patterns.[5]

The later TWSTR branding distinguished the revived product line from the earlier markers. The Planet Eclipse Ego LV1 was the first platform in this newer range, followed by further custom-marker projects under Committed Paintball.[5]

Tournament paintball

[edit]

Boston Paintball is associated with the New England Paintball League (NEPL) and New England Xball League (NEXL). The leagues provide regional tournament competition, and their official website identifies itself as a Boston Paintball site.[3][7]

The company's wider paintball activities also include involvement with BKi Paintball, Team USA Paintball and the Heroines women's professional team. A 2023 interview with Vitale discussed his work across these programmes and his role in establishing the Paintball Combine.[1][3]
