2019 NXL World Cup

From WikiPaintball

The 2019 NXL World Cup was a National Xball League (NXL) paintball tournament held from 7 to 10 November 2019 in Kissimmee, Florida, United States. It concluded the league's five-event United States national season.[1]

Houston Heat defeated Moscow Red Legion 7–6 in the professional final to win its second consecutive NXL World Cup. San Antonio X-Factor won the professional season championship, finishing three points ahead of Red Legion.[2][3]

Dates and venue

[edit]

Competition took place from Thursday, 7 November, to Sunday, 10 November 2019. The official event record gives the venue address as 6000 West Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, Florida.[1]

Competition formats

[edit]

Professional X-Ball used 15-minute games with a six-point mercy rule. Semi-Pro and Division 2 used 15-minute games with a five-point mercy rule. Divisions 3 and 4 used 12-minute games with a four-point mercy rule.[1]

Traditional five-player competition was offered in Divisions 3, 4 and 5. Other formats included Open Pump, Classic five-player, Open and Amateur ten-player, Mounds five-player and ten-player, and several three-player divisions.[1]

Separate championship competitions were held for Division 3 X-Ball, Division 4 X-Ball and Division 4/5 five-player RaceTo-2. These were distinct from the corresponding main-event divisions.[1][4]

Season championships

[edit]

World Cup completed the national season following the Las Vegas, Texas, Philadelphia and Chicago Opens. Event victories and season championships were separate honours.[3]

San Antonio X-Factor finished first in the professional standings with 886 points, followed by Moscow Red Legion on 883 and World Cup winners Houston Heat on 870.[3]

The final standings list the following leaders in divisions contested across multiple national events:[3]

Division Season leader Points

The published standings place the Las Vegas and World Cup pump competitions in separate tables. Reverent Mercs leads the Las Vegas table and Texas Legends Pump leads the World Cup table, each with 100 points.[3]

The Mounds, Classic, Female Open three-player and separate championship divisions appear with World Cup as their only event in the national standings. Their victories should therefore be distinguished from championships accumulated across several national rounds.[3]
