2011 NPPL Las Vegas World Championships

From WikiPaintball

The 2011 NPPL Las Vegas World Championships, promoted as the NPPL World Paintball Championships, was a National Professional Paintball League tournament held from 11–13 November 2011 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It was the fourth and final event of the 2011 NPPL season.[1][2]

Chicago Aftershock won the professional competition, while runners-up San Diego Dynasty secured the professional season championship.[3][4]

Event

[edit]

The league's event information identified the venue address as 2901 Las Vegas Boulevard South. Registration and the captains' meeting took place on 10 November, followed by competition from Friday to Sunday.[1]

The tournament used three fields. Contemporary reporting described play continuing into the evening under artificial lighting.[5]

Competition included professional and amateur seven-player divisions, separate Division 4 five-player competition, and pump play.[3][6][7][8]

Professional placings

[edit]

Paintball Pit's results report lists DC Arsenal third and Edmonton Impact fourth. However, the official final season table awards Impact 17 points for Las Vegas and Arsenal 15. The surviving official professional scoreboard does not complete the final-four results, so the conflicting lower placings remain unresolved.[3][4][12]

Divisional finals

[edit]

Dynasty 2 defeated Louisville Sluggers by two games to one in the Division 1 final. Top Gun Evolution won Division 2 after an opening draw and two victories against LSD Savage.[9][10]

Good 4 Nothing won Division 3 against Blackout, recording two victories and a draw. Sac Royals Too defeated Camp P. Heat in two straight games for the Division 4 seven-player title.[6][11]

Centermass Hawaii won both games against Colorado All Stars in the Division 4 five-player final. FrontKick2theSternum won the pump championship against LA Hitmen.com following an overtime decider.[7][8]

Season championships

[edit]

The final official rankings identify the following 2011 series champions.[4]
