2010 Millennium Series Fuengirola Beach Cup
The 2010 Millennium Series Fuengirola Beach Cup was the opening tournament of the 2010 Millennium Series season, scheduled for 16–18 April 2010 in Fuengirola, Málaga, Spain.[1][2] Severe weather and travel disruption associated with an Icelandic volcanic eruption affected the event. Outstanding professional matches were subsequently completed at Bitburg, Germany, where San Diego Dynasty Impact secured the tournament title.[2][3]
Event disruption
[edit]The tournament was affected by poor weather at the beach venue and flight disruption that prevented or delayed teams travelling to Spain. Planet Eclipse's contemporary report described repeated work to restore the beach and delays to the start of Friday's matches.[2]
The Champions Paintball League (CPL) competition was not completed during the Spanish weekend. Its remaining matches were played during the European Masters weekend at Bitburg in May.[3]
Professional results
[edit]San Diego Dynasty Impact won the resumed Fuengirola competition, with Marseille Icon finishing second.[3][4]
| Position | Team |
|---|---|
| 1 | San Diego Dynasty Impact |
| 2 | Marseille Icon |
Dynasty Impact also won the separate European Masters competition at Bitburg, completing a double victory during the German weekend.[3]
