2009 MPL Guadalajara Open

From WikiPaintball

The 2009 MPL Guadalajara Open was the third round of the 2009 Mexican Paintball League season, held in Guadalajara over the weekend of 22–23 August 2009.[1][2] The official event page named Arturo Andrade and Isaac Garza as organisers.[3]

Competition

[edit]

The tournament offered Abierta (Open), played five against five, and Novatos (Novice), played three against three.[3] A contemporary report by participating team Templarios stated that 17 Open teams and 34 Novice teams attended.[2]

The league's subsequent rankings list Guadalajara points for 17 Open entries and 37 Novice entries, differing from the Novice attendance figure in the team report.[2][4]

Recorded event points

[edit]

The following teams received the four highest Guadalajara point awards in each division. These figures are taken from the Guadalajara column of the league's cumulative rankings after three rounds, rather than a separate event finishing-order table.[4]

Division Team Guadalajara points
Abierta Overhead Black 100.00
Abierta TJ All Starz Black 94.4
Abierta TJ All Stars Gold 88.8
Abierta Overhead Empire 83.1
Novatos Naughty Paintballs 100.0
Novatos Cruzlee 97.5
Novatos XK One 4 One 95.0
Novatos GDL All Starz 92.5

Contemporary account

[edit]

In its report published on 26 August, Templarios described winning six games and losing two in Saturday's opening stage, then being eliminated by Naughty Paintball in the following round. The report also documented Rocky Cagnoni's presence at the event, working for DYE.[2]
