2008 INPL season

From WikiPaintball

The 2008 INPL season was the national paintball league programme associated with Iranian calendar year 1387 (2008–2009). Contemporary reports document an opening Persian Gulf Cup event, a second stage in Mashhad in August 2008 and a fourth stage in Kish in March 2009.[1][2][3][4]

Datis Tehran won the opening stage, followed by Pas Javan and Giv Khorasan Razavi. These are round results rather than verified overall season standings.[1]

Opening stage

[edit]

A report published in Resalat on 26 May 2008 (6 Khordad 1387), citing the Iran Paintball Association's public relations office, described the opening competition as the Persian Gulf Cup. It was held to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr.[1]

Eight teams participated. Datis Tehran and Pas Javan reached the final, where Datis won the opening-stage title.[1]

Position Team
1st Datis Tehran
2nd Pas Javan
3rd Giv Khorasan Razavi

Second stage

[edit]

IRNA reported that the second stage of the national professional paintball league began in Mashhad on 28 August 2008 (7 Shahrivar 1387), with 23 teams representing seven provinces.[2]

A separate report published that day stated that competition would continue until the following day. This establishes the announced programme of 28–29 August, rather than independently confirming the completion date.[3]

Fourth stage in Kish

[edit]

An IRNA report dated 3 March 2009 (13 Esfand 1387) recorded the opening of the fourth national league stage at Stadium No. 2 of the Kish Olympic Sports Complex. Twenty teams participated in the event, which also used the Persian Gulf Cup title.[4]

The report announced competition for 13–14 Esfand (3–4 March 2009), followed by a separate international Golden Palm tournament.[4]

Overall standings

[edit]

The recovered contemporary reports establish the opening-round podium but do not provide a verified aggregate championship table. Datis's opening-stage victory therefore does not, by itself, establish the overall season champion.[1]
