2005 PSP SoCal Open
The 2005 PSP SoCal Open, also reported as the Los Angeles Open, was the opening Paintball Sports Promotions tournament of 2005. Held from 17–20 February at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, it featured five-man and divisional X-Ball competition alongside NXL matches.[1][2]
Format and conditions
[edit]PSP dropped 10-man competition for 2005. Its revised equipment rules permitted enhanced firing modes under a 15-balls-per-second limit, replacing the previous semi-automatic restriction.[1]
Heavy rain affected the tournament and forced several NXL matches to be postponed.[1]

Other opening-day results included Oakland's 11–8 victory over Los Angeles Ironmen, Philadelphia Americans' 12–7 win against New York, and draws between San Diego Legacy and Baltimore Trauma, 7–7, and Detroit and Miami Effect, 8–8.[1]
These were regular-season matches. Rain forced two Saturday matches and three remaining Sunday matches to be deferred.[1]
