2001 APEC Moama Tournament
The 2001 APEC Moama Tournament was a paintball event held in Moama, Australia, in September 2001. A contemporary participant account described it as the final round of the APEC tournaments and documented the participation of a New Zealand scratch team referred to as the Kiwis. [1]
Event
[edit]The tournament used inflatable-bunker and hay-bale fields. The New Zealand squad competed against teams including Junk Yard Dogs, Kaozs, Party Boys and Apparition. [1]
In a report published on 25 September, New Zealand participant Peter Mumby described the squad travelling to Australia specifically for the event and using borrowed markers. He reported victories over Junk Yard Dogs during the preliminary stage and a later victory over Kaozs. [1]
Reported result
[edit]Mumby's account listed the final order as Kaozs, Kiwis and Junk Yard Dogs, placing the New Zealand squad second. A subsequent reply signed Steve described the result as “1st equal”, but supplied no scores or explanation. The surviving discussion does not resolve the difference between these accounts. [1]
