1997 New York Cup

From WikiPaintball

The 1997 New York Cup was an announced paintball tournament scheduled for 5–7 September 1997 at Survival New York. A contemporary calendar billed it as the second annual New York Cup and advertised professional and amateur ten-man competition alongside a novice five-man division.[1]

Advertised programme

[edit]

The December 1996 issue of Paintball Sports announced a minimum of six games, a trade show and tens of thousands of US dollars in cash and prizes.[1]

The listing specified NPPL rules and NPPL-set entry fees, although it did not give the fee amounts.[1]

Relationship to the NPPL

[edit]

The contemporary announcement associated the planned tournament with NPPL playing rules and entry arrangements. It did not explicitly identify the event as an NPPL championship round.[1]
