2017 Millennium Series season
The 2017 Millennium Series season was the final season of the Millennium Series, an international paintball tournament circuit. It comprised four events held in France, Germany and the United Kingdom between March and September 2017.[1][2]
Edmonton Impact retained the professional Champions Paintball League (CPL) season championship, winning two of the four tournaments. Toulouse TonTons won the concluding World Cup at Chantilly and finished second in the overall professional standings.[3][4][5]
Following the season, the Millennium Series and National Xball League confirmed their combination, with European competition continuing under the NXL Europe name from 2018.[2]

European Masters
[edit]Russian Legion won the Bitburg tournament, defeating Breakout Spa 6–5 in overtime after recovering from a 3–0 deficit. Edmonton Impact finished third and Toulouse TonTons fourth.[5][7]
Impact remained first in the championship standings after the second round, with Russian Legion, Breakout Spa and TonTons following. The four teams were separated by 18 points.[7]
Campaign Cup
[edit]Impact secured its second event victory at the Campaign Cup, recovering from a 3–1 deficit to defeat Russian Legion 4–3 in the final. TonTons finished third and Breakout Spa fourth.[8]
The same four teams had occupied the leading positions at each of the first three events. They were separated by 36 championship points before the final round.[8]
World Cup and season outcome
[edit]Toulouse TonTons defeated Edmonton Impact to win the concluding World Cup at Chantilly. Impact nevertheless retained the overall professional championship, with TonTons finishing second.[3][4][5]
International championships
[edit]Separate national-team World Championships accompanied the Millennium Series events. The European Paintball Federation's 2017 programme paired the veterans' championship with Puget-sur-Argens, the women's championship with Bitburg, the men's championship with the British round and the under-19 championship with Chantilly.[1]
These national-team competitions were distinct from the club teams' Millennium Series championship.
Transition to NXL Europe
[edit]The combination of the Millennium Series and National Xball League was confirmed after the Chantilly tournament. European events would operate as NXL Europe from 2018, bringing the Millennium Series name to an end.[2]
