The 2017 Millennium Series World Cup was a paintball tournament held at Chantilly Racecourse in Chantilly, France, from 15–17 September 2017. Marketed as the Paris-Chantilly World Cup, it concluded the 2017 Millennium Series season and was the final event of the Millennium Series before the circuit became NXL Europe in 2018.[1][2][3]

Toulouse TonTons won the professional competition, finishing ahead of Edmonton Impact. Impact won the overall professional season championship.[4][5]

Event

[edit]

The tournament brought together approximately 1,500 players. Contemporary reporting recorded participants from across Europe and countries including Gabon, South Africa and Mexico. French teams accounted for approximately 35 per cent of the participating teams.[2]

The programme included professional and divisional club competition, alongside separate youth national-team tournaments. The contemporary event preview listed an under-19 competition and an under-16 competition played by three-player teams.[1]

Professional competition

[edit]

Edmonton Impact entered the final round leading the professional standings, having won two of the preceding three tournaments. Impact, Toulouse TonTons, Russian Legion Moscow and Breakout Spa had occupied the top four places at each previous round and were separated by 36 championship points before Chantilly.[1]

Toulouse TonTons defeated Edmonton Impact in the final to win the World Cup. Impact nevertheless secured the overall season championship, with TonTons finishing second in the season standings.[4][5]
