2021 NXL Australia Victoria Round 2 was a NXL Australia paintball tournament advertised for 22–23 May 2021 at Paintball Games Coldstream in Victoria, Australia. Contemporary venue and team reports confirm that South East Cartel won Division 1 and Lumberjacks won Division 2.[1][2][3][4]

Dates and venue

[edit]

PBLeagues and the league's official calendar advertised 22–23 May 2021 at Paintball Games Coldstream. PBLeagues gave the address as 3–5 Maxwells Road, Coldstream, Victoria.[1][2]

The venue's report, published on 23 May, confirmed that it had hosted Victoria Round 2 and identified the winners of both divisions. ADL Assassins also published a report of the completed Division 1 final.[3][4]

These records confirm competition during the advertised weekend, but do not establish that games were played on both days.

Divisions

[edit]

The league's calendar advertised five-man competition in Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3. The surviving PBLeagues listing offered Division 1 and Division 2, using win-by-four and win-by-three formats respectively.[1][2][5]

Contemporary reports confirm completion of Division 1 and Division 2. Division 3 completion has not been established.[3][4]

Results

[edit]

Division 1

[edit]

ADL Assassins reported reaching the grand final without losing a game. The final against South East Cartel was tied 2–2 before Cartel won the golden point, leaving Assassins in second place. The venue independently confirmed Cartel as the Division 1 winner.[3][4]

Place Team
1st South East Cartel
2nd ADL Assassins

Further Division 1 placings have not been verified.

Division 2

[edit]

The venue's contemporary report confirmed Lumberjacks as the Division 2 winner.[3]

Place Team
1st Lumberjacks

Further Division 2 placings and match scores have not been verified.

Registration records

[edit]

PBLeagues retains the following entries:[6]

Division Registered team
Division 1 ADL Assassins
Division 1 Hustle
Division 2 Aspire
Division 2 Lumberjacks

This list is incomplete as a record of participation: South East Cartel appears in the contemporary final report but is absent from the surviving entry list. Registrations must therefore not be treated as a complete field or final standings.[4][6]

The PBLeagues score page states “No Games Completed” and contains no match scores. Contemporary venue and team reports independently confirm that both divisions took place.[3][4][5]

COVID-19 context

[edit]

In a post published on 17 June 2021, Jackson Chandler identified photographs as “NXL R2 2021” and described returning to competition before Melbourne went back into lockdown. This records the pandemic's interruption to subsequent activity, but does not establish the outcome of later rounds.[7]
