The 2024 NXL World Cup was the final tournament of the 2024 National Xball League season, held in Kissimmee, Florida, from 6 to 10 November 2024. The event included professional and divisional X-Ball, women's competition, classic formats, youth competition and the Commander Cup.[1]

PaintballFIT won the professional World Cup, defeating Edmonton Impact 3–2 in the final. Red Legion finished first in the professional season standings. The Heroines won both the women's professional World Cup and the WNXL season championship.[2][3]

Dates and venue

[edit]

The published event dates were 6–10 November 2024. The tournament site was listed at 6000 West Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, Florida.[1]

Professional, WNXL and divisional X-Ball competition was scheduled from Thursday, 7 November, to Sunday, 10 November, with other formats operating on shorter schedules within the event.[1]

Formats and Champions Cup

[edit]

Professional X-Ball used 15-minute matches with a six-point mercy rule. WNXL, Semi-Professional and Division 2 used 15-minute matches with a five-point mercy rule. Divisions 3 and 4 used 12-minute matches with a four-point mercy rule, while Division 5 and Masters used ten-minute matches with a three-point mercy rule.[1]

The professional field comprised 24 teams. Red Legion, San Antonio X-Factor, Houston Heat and SCALP formed the four-team championship bracket and qualified directly for the quarter-finals. The other 20 teams contested four preliminary brackets, with the top two from each advancing to an elimination round that supplied the remaining four quarter-finalists.[4]

Semi-Professional and Divisions 2–5 also had four-team championship brackets whose members qualified directly for their respective quarter-finals.[4]

The World Cup event championship was distinct from the season championship. World Cup awarded double ranking points, and the professional season standings incorporated all four preceding majors and World Cup.[3][5]

The official placings put ac DIESEL third, San Diego Dynasty fourth and Red Legion fifth.[6]
