Iron Mace Paintball Gear was an American paintball equipment brand based in Bonita Springs, Florida. The company produced pod harnesses and protective gloves under the Premium Iron Mace Paintball (PIMP) name. Iron Mace also operated a paintball retail business and manufactured portable paintball field bunkers.[1][2]

History

[edit]

Iron Mace Paintball was active by September 2004, when WARPIG published a review of its PIMP protective gloves. At the time, the business was expanding from paintball retailing and its Balzlistic portable bunker range into specialist paintball clothing and equipment.[1]

In May 2005, Iron Mace registered its Bonita Springs retail operation in the WARPIG Store Finder. The business advertised paintball equipment sales, marker servicing, compressed-air filling and a private training field. Its manufacturing activities included the Balzlistic Bunker portable field system.[2]

In July 2006, WARPIG reviewed the company's PIMP Gear 4+5 pod harness, documenting its adjustable waist belt and additional pod-carrying capacity.[3]

Iron Mace Paintball was also acknowledged for supplying mobile air services and equipment at the Braveheart scenario paintball event held at Camp Miles, Florida, on 3–5 October 2008.[4]

PIMP Gloves

[edit]

The PIMP Gloves were full-fingered protective paintball gloves introduced by September 2004.

Their construction included:

  • Suede-textured palms and fingers with reinforced gripping surfaces.
  • Protective padding across the palms and knuckles.
  • Rubberised protection over the finger joints.
  • Ribbed neoprene padding and ventilated sections.
  • Hook-and-loop wrist closures.

The gloves were designed to provide impact protection while retaining sufficient grip and finger movement for operating paintball markers.[1]

PIMP Gear pod harnesses

[edit]

Iron Mace produced tournament pod harnesses in several configurations, including the PIMP Gear 3+4 and PIMP Gear 4+5.[3]

The 4+5 harness carried four primary pods in secured vertical pockets, with five additional elastic pod holders.

Its adjustable waist belt incorporated overlapping hook-and-loop straps, allowing the same harness to accommodate a wide range of waist sizes. During WARPIG testing, the pack fitted waist measurements ranging from 28 to 46 inches.

The additional pod holders were positioned between and alongside the main pockets, providing greater carrying capacity than some contemporary harnesses using the same number of primary pod holders.[3]

Balzlistic bunkers

[edit]

Iron Mace also manufactured the Balzlistic Bunker range of portable paintball field equipment. Contemporary coverage described these as self-braced portable bunkers intended for constructing temporary playing fields.[1][2]
