The 2004 NPPL Commander's Cup was the final tournament of the 2004 NPPL Super 7 season, held from 12–14 November 2004 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. The Men won the professional division.[1][2]

Background and organisation

[edit]

The tournament retained its name in memory of musician and tournament paintball player Maurice Gibb, moving from its previous location in Miami to San Diego.[1]

A total of 175 teams competed on five fields. Preliminary games ran on Friday and Saturday, continuing into the evening under artificial lighting. The event also included a trade show and live music.[1]

Professional competition

[edit]

Thirty-two professional teams entered. The tournament provided their final opportunity to earn ranking points towards qualification for the NPPL's closed professional division in 2005.[1]

Ironmen defeated Nexus two games to one in the semi-finals, while The Men beat XSV by the same margin. The Men then defeated Ironmen in two consecutive games to win the title.[1]
