The 2003 NPPL Chicago Open was a seven-player paintball tournament held from 6 to 8 June 2003 at the Tweeter Center south of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It was the third event of the NPPL Super 7 World Series.[1]

Naughty Dogs won Professional, STP won Amateur, Twisted Factory won Novice and Team RM won Rookie.[2][3]

Venue and competition format

[edit]

The tournament used grass areas outside the Tweeter Center concert venue. Preliminary games began on Friday and continued on Saturday, with the remaining rounds played on Sunday. Rain and gusting winds affected play.[1]

Following feedback from the Las Vegas event, the professional championship reverted from best-of-five to best-of-three. Semi-final winners contested first and second place, while the losing teams played for third and fourth.[1]

Professional games remained on the main NPPL field. Amateur, Novice and Rookie championship matches also used that field, while their third-place contests took place on the Evil/PMI field.[1]
