1999 NPPL Las Vegas Open
The 1999 NPPL Las Vegas Open was a National Professional Paintball League tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 12 to 14 March 1999. Produced by DYE Precision, it featured ten-man competition on 12–14 March and five-man competition on 13–14 March.[1]
Avalanche won the professional ten-man title. Paraplegic Turtles won Amateur A, Krusade won Amateur B and Ton Ton Flinguers won the five-man competition.[2][3]
Venue and organisation
[edit]The tournament moved to a new desert location closer to Las Vegas. WARPIG reported that improved windbreaks reduced the wind and dust problems experienced at previous editions, although dust entering equipment seals continued to occupy manufacturers' technicians.[1]
DYE provided tents for team staging and vendors. Outta Control, Bad Company and the Southern California Ironmen refereed the event.[1]
Referees enforced the NPPL's new zero-tolerance policy towards arguing with officials or disputing decisions on the field.[1]
Ten-man results
[edit]Avalanche won the professional final with 194 points, 12 ahead of Image. Paraplegic Turtles won Amateur A with 282 points, while Krusade won Amateur B with 201.[2]
