2008 Pengerang Open
The 2008 Pengerang Open was a paintball tournament held on 19 and 20 January 2008 at Stadium Bandar Penawar, Pengerang, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia. Raskal won Division Pendekar, S2K won Division Pahlawan and Baraton won Pengerang Closed.[1]
Organisation and participation
[edit]A contemporary report by Akira Nurtagaya identified Tactical Action Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian National Paintball League organising team as responsible for delivering the tournament.[1]

Ten of the fourteen Pahlawan teams came from Johor.[1]
Competition
[edit]Zealous led the Pendekar preliminary standings, while NoMercy led Pahlawan. The second day introduced best-of-three knockout quarter-finals, described in the contemporary account as a new MY-NPL competition format.[1]
Raskal faced Flanker in the Pendekar final, while S2K faced X3MIX in the Pahlawan final.[1]

Placings follow the contemporary tournament report. Its photograph caption identifies Flanker as “Flanker a.k.a. Nemesis”.[1] A separate Lowyat.NET results compilation lists Nemesis, spelt “Nemisis”, as Pendekar runners-up.[2]
