Relic (New Zealand Paintball Team)
Relic was a New Zealand tournament paintball team documented competing in 2005. The team finished eleventh overall at the 2005 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball and tenth in the opening round of the 2005 Hamilton 3x Series.[1][2]
History
[edit]Relic competed at the 2005 Auckland Queen’s Birthday Superball at Kumeu Showgrounds on 4–5 June. The contemporary results placed the team eleventh overall and third in the Plate classification.[1]
Contemporary post-event discussions identify Brett, known on the forum as JazzyBrett, as a Relic player. Brett played the Auckland tournament as a guest for Cynical after an expected Cynical player did not attend. He described Relic as his own team and reported playing against it during the tournament.[3] This guest appearance does not establish that he transferred from Relic.
On 10 July, Relic competed in the opening round of the Hamilton 3x Series. The team finished tenth of twelve entries with 271 points.[2]
Relic was subsequently named among the teams interested in the second Hamilton round scheduled for 11 September. The organiser's final results list did not include Relic, so the earlier expression of interest is not treated as confirmed participation.[4]
All New Zealand Relic records from these 2005 events are treated as the same team based on contributor confirmation. No verified results have been recovered after July 2005, and the absence of later records does not establish when the team ceased operating.
