Vengeance was an Australian tournament paintball team that won the amateur division of the 1996 Australian Masters and the professional division of the 1998 Australian Seven-Player Paintball Championships.[1][2]

History

[edit]

1996 Australian Masters

[edit]

Vengeance competed in the amateur division of the 1996 Australian Masters at Skirmish Adventures in Helensburgh, New South Wales.[1]

The contemporary report described the team as built around Neil Martin and several former Regulators players, with assistance from Black Reign reserves.[1]

Vengeance faced the visiting American team Rage during the tournament. The report records that Vengeance used a “dead man's walk” to secure a flag grab, although Rage subsequently won the game.[1]

Vengeance went on to win the amateur championship. The other amateur finalists were Tomcats, Black Widows and Acme.[1]

1998 Australian Seven-Player Championships

[edit]

Vengeance won the professional division of the 1998 Australian Seven-Player Paintball Championships at Yarramundi, New South Wales. Eight professional and eight amateur teams from Australia and New Zealand competed.[2]

The team led the professional preliminary standings with 791 points. This entitled it to select one of the finals fields; Vengeance chose Hyperball, with Trenches used as the second field.[2]

After losing its opening finals game to Black Reign, Vengeance won its remaining two games. It finished with 230 finals points, ahead of Black Reign on 215, to secure the professional championship.[2]
