1998 Actions Queen’s Birthday Tournament
The 1998 Actions Queen's Birthday Tournament was a five-player paintball tournament held on 31 May 1998 at Actions Paintball Sports Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Nine teams competed. Saints Gold won overall and in Division One, while Phantom 5 won Division Two.[1][2]
Organisation and format
[edit]Kyn Jackson organised the tournament, with Ian McDonald preparing the rules. Games used a centre flag and lasted ten minutes, with each team playing every other team once. The rules combined NPL and APL provisions with modifications to scoring and other procedures.[1]
Play took place across two speedball-sized fields: one consisting of barricades and another combining barricades with bush. Several Katipo players assisted with refereeing, although the team did not compete.[1]
