The 1998 Auckland Easter Tournament was a five-player paintball tournament held on 12 April 1998 at Actions Paintball Sports Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Seven teams competed, with Saints Gold winning ahead of Katipo.[1]

Organisation and format

[edit]

The tournament was arranged with less than two weeks' notice after a planned Wellington competition failed to materialise. All seven teams that entered attended.[1]

Games used a centre flag on the venue's Bunker field and lasted ten minutes. The competition followed the 1996 APPL rules with a one-for-one rule added and modified scoring awarding 20 points for the first flag pull.[1]

Each team played six preliminary matches. The leading four advanced to a finals round, with scores reset to zero and each finalist playing three further matches. The event comprised 27 games.[1]
