The Australian Masters was a paintball tournament held at Skirmish Adventures in Helensburgh, New South Wales, Australia. Contemporary reports document its 1995 and 1996 editions, with visiting United States team Rage winning both events.[1][2]

1995 tournament

[edit]

The 1995 Australian Masters was held over two days at Skirmish Adventures. Rage won the tournament, with Magnum finishing second. Hardline and Black Reign were the other finalists.[1]

Rage’s visit was supported by R. P. Scherer, Paintball Australia and Skirmish Adventures. SWAT supplied the tournament referees.[1]

The contemporary report contains conflicting accounts of the remaining finalists’ placings. Its introductory narrative places Black Reign third and Hardline fourth, while its final results table reverses that order.[1]

1996 tournament

[edit]

The 1996 edition was sanctioned by the Australasian Paintball Players League and attracted 14 teams, including entrants from Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Professional and amateur divisions were used.[2]

Rage won the professional division, while Vengeance won the amateur division. The Saints travelled from New Zealand to compete.[2]

SWAT and Bad Company Australia provided referees.[2]
