Her involvement in the sport includes international competition, tournament organisation and support for other women entering competitive paintball.[1][2][3]
Paintball career
[edit]Tournament organisation
[edit]In January 2015, Andrade was named as a member of the organising committee for an international Almost Famous Paintball League tournament in Cancún, Mexico. The competition was announced for 28 February and 1 March at the Centro Deportivo de Alto Rendimiento, with teams expected from Mexico, the United States and elsewhere in Latin America.[3]
WNXL and Femmes Fatale
[edit]Andrade participated in the women's exhibition match held at the NXL World Cup on 13 November 2021, ahead of the WNXL's first full season in 2022. The exhibition brought together players associated with the league's planned franchises on two teams, Fire and Ice.[1]
In his report on the match, published by the National Xball League, Quinn Nadu identified Andrade as a player to watch for the forthcoming season, highlighting her speed and attacking play for Femmes Fatale.[1]
Daniela Rojas subsequently described playing alongside Andrade at Femmes Fatale during her first two WNXL seasons. PBLeagues match records also document Andrade competing for the team in the women's WNXL X-Ball division.[2][4]
Support for other players
[edit]In her autobiographical account, Rojas credits Andrade with helping introduce her to Destiny in 2020 after noticing her performances with the Colombian team Medusas. The introduction led to a tryout with Destiny in Florida.[4]
Rojas also recounts that, following her victory at the 2020 World Cup, Andrade gave her a paintball marker and encouraged her to continue training and learn English before the following year's tournament.[4]
