IRM Paintball Assault 2008
IRM Paintball Assault 2008 was a Malaysian charity paintball tournament advertised for 26 July 2008 at Padang Merbok in Kuala Lumpur. The event was promoted as a fundraiser for Islamic Relief Malaysia’s China Earthquake and Palestine Gaza appeals.[1]
The surviving announcement used the title IRM Paintball Assault – Charity thru Sports, while its later results update called the event the IRM Urban Assault tournament.[1]
Organisation
[edit]The tournament was announced by Iman Intellect Sdn Bhd, Barnie Redzan Productions and Si Rimba. Registration enquiries were handled through an Islamic Relief Malaysia email address.[1]
The organisers described it as a street or urban paintball tournament. The published format combined elements of competitive and scenario paintball, including five armed players and two unarmed roles designated as captain and medic.[1]
Format
[edit]The announcement specified ten-minute games in which teams attempted to collect three flags and deliver them to their captain. Each flag was worth five points, with eliminations used in tie-breaking.[1]
Markers were restricted to uncapped semi-automatic operation and a maximum velocity of 280 feet per second. Sidearms, paint grenades, selected woodsball accessories and communication equipment were permitted.[1]
