2021 NXL Australia Victoria Round 2
2021 NXL Australia Victoria Round 2 was a NXL Australia paintball tournament advertised for 22–23 May 2021 at Paintball Games Coldstream in Victoria, Australia. Division 1 competition is confirmed by a contemporary ADL Assassins report, which records South East Cartel winning the final on a golden point after a 2–2 draw.[1][2][3]
Dates and venue
PBLeagues and the league's official calendar advertised 22–23 May 2021 at Paintball Games Coldstream. PBLeagues gave the address as 3–5 Maxwells Road, Coldstream, Victoria.[1][2]
ADL Assassins published a report of the completed Division 1 competition, accompanied by photographs dated 23 May 2021.[3][4]
These records confirm that competition took place during the advertised weekend, but do not establish that games were played on both days.
Advertised divisions
The league's calendar advertised five-man competition in Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3. The surviving PBLeagues listing offered Division 1 and Division 2, with win-by-four and win-by-three formats respectively.[1][2][5]
Completion of Division 2 and Division 3 has not been independently established.
Division 1 results
ADL Assassins reported reaching the grand final without losing a game. The final against South East Cartel was tied 2–2 before Cartel won the golden point, leaving Assassins in second place.[3]
| Place | Team |
|---|---|
| 1st | South East Cartel |
| 2nd | ADL Assassins |
The placings above are supported by the Assassins' contemporary report. Further Division 1 placings have not been verified.[3]
Registration records
PBLeagues retains the following entries:[6]
| Division | Registered team |
|---|---|
| Division 1 | ADL Assassins |
| Division 1 | Hustle |
| Division 2 | Aspire |
| Division 2 | Lumberjacks |
This list is incomplete as a record of participation: South East Cartel appears in the contemporary final report but is absent from the surviving entry list. Registrations must therefore not be treated as a complete field or final standings.[3][6]
The PBLeagues score page states “No Games Completed” and contains no match scores. The contemporary final report independently confirms that Division 1 competition took place.[3][5]
COVID-19 context
In a post published on 17 June 2021, Jackson Chandler identified photographs as “NXL R2 2021” and described returning to competition before Melbourne went back into lockdown. This supports participation at the round, but does not establish the outcome of subsequent events.[7]
