2025 MLPB Pro 3v3 World Championship
The 2025 MLPB Pro 3v3 World Championship was a four-team professional paintball tournament held on 1 August 2025 at The Stadium at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Walt Disney World, Florida. Organised under the Major League Paintball banner, it featured teams from the National Xball League and was broadcast live on ESPN2.[1][2][3]
Edmonton Impact won the championship, defeating San Diego Dynasty 6–5 in the final.[4]
NXL relationship and qualification
The organiser described the championship as a competition for the four leading teams in the NXL professional season rankings. The participating teams were PaintballFIT, San Diego Dynasty, Edmonton Impact and Red Legion.[2][5]
The championship used a separate Major League Paintball event record. It was distinct from the regular NXL professional three-player competition introduced at the 2025 NXL Midwest Open, and its results were not included among the events contributing to the published NXL three-player season standings.[1][6]
Date and venue
The tournament took place on Friday, 1 August 2025, at The Stadium at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. The official event record listed the address as 700 South Victory Way, Orlando, Florida.[1]
Spectator admission was free, with gates scheduled to open at 9.30 am.[1]
Rules
The championship used a modified three-player X-Ball format designed for the event.[2][5]
- Matches lasted ten minutes.
- Each player began each point with one hopper and two pods of paint.
- The clock continued running between points until the final 30 seconds, when it stopped between points.
- Points were scored by pressing the buzzer at the opposing team's start station.
- A tied match proceeded directly to a 30-second sudden-death one-on-one.
- If neither player won the one-on-one, the team with the fastest point victory during regulation advanced.
- The playing field measured 120 feet by 100 feet.
These arrangements differed from the standard five-player NXL professional format and from the seven-minute professional three-player games advertised for the Midwest Open.[2][5][7]
Competition
The four teams contested two opening matches, recorded as preliminary brackets in the official scoring system. Each winner advanced to the final.[4]
Edmonton Impact defeated PaintballFIT 7–4, while San Diego Dynasty defeated Red Legion 6–4. Impact then defeated Dynasty 6–5 to win the championship.[4]
