The 2015 CPPS Round 1, billed as the Dye Championship, was the first round of the 2015 Central Premier Paintball Series season. It took place on 21–22 March 2015. Lucky 15s Staffordshire won the Elite Division.[1][2][3]

Dates

The official calendar records the round as taking place on 21–22 March 2015. The organiser's Saturday and Sunday event videos identify the division schedule.[1][4][5]

Date Divisions
21 March 2015 Division 5, Breakout and Breakin
22 March 2015 Elite Division and Divisions 1–4

Format and participating teams

The round introduced the Breakin division alongside the existing Breakout competition. In his contemporary report for Paintball Media, Steve Turnbull described Breakin as an introduction to tournament paintball, with referees helping inexperienced teams learn the game as well as officiating matches. Promotion and relegation between the introductory divisions were intended to provide more closely matched competition.[6]

Participating development teams included Sandbaggers Development Corps, organised by Alan Wood of Planet Eclipse, and Mad Sqad Rebels 2, formed to introduce newer players from Falkirk, Scotland, to tournament competition.[6]

Tournament report

Lucky 15s Staffordshire's Elite victory was described by Turnbull as the team's first podium finish after two years in the division. The organisation also won Division 1 through Lucky 15s Mustangs, whose result earned promotion to Elite for the second round.[6]

London Outcast's line-up included Jason Wheeler, who had left London Nexus to join his brother Jake. Clint Moore had returned to Nexus after playing for Art Chaos. London Outcast finished fifth in Elite, while Nexus finished seventh.[6]

The leading four teams in each division were as follows, using the event match records, Round 1 season records and the organiser's published video descriptions.[2][3][4][5]
