K.S.B. (New Zealand Paintball Team)
K.S.B. was a New Zealand competitive paintball team based in Dunedin. The team finished third at the 1998 National Three-Man Centre Flag Competition in Invercargill.[1]
Tournament history
K.S.B. competed in the Invercargill tournament over Queen's Birthday weekend in 1998. Four teams played six matches each over one and a half days, using three-player centre-flag games on two fields.[1]
The contemporary report identified Kerry Brooks as K.S.B.'s captain, with Steve Sharpe and Brian “B2” Thornley completing the three-player entry. The source spells Thornley's forename “Bryan”; his individual profile and other contemporary reports use Brian.[1][2]
K.S.B. recorded 224 points in the published end-results table and finished third. The team did not advance to the final, which was contested by S.L.O.B.s and WarPigs.[1]
Thornley was also associated with the Dunedin team Flashpoint. His participation with K.S.B. documents a personnel connection, but the available evidence does not establish that K.S.B. was an alternative name for Flashpoint.[1][2]
No reliable source has been found explaining the initials K.S.B. A previously reconstructed 2007 appearance could not be verified and is not included.
