HBI W is a Swedish women's paintball team with an international playing roster. The team competed in the Women's National Xball League (WNXL) division at the 2023 European Championships and the 2024 Portugal Invitational. [1][2]

Portuguese reporting identifies HBI W as a Swedish team, while its PBLeagues profile lists its home town as Europe and its home field as Paintball Estepona. [1][2]

History

[edit]

Registration

[edit]

HBI W's PBLeagues profile records registration on 15 August 2023. This is a database registration date rather than a confirmed founding date. [1]

2023 European Championships

[edit]

At the 2023 European Championships, held from 30 August to 3 September, HBI W entered the women's WNXL Xball division. [1]

The team opened its preliminary campaign with victories over Halcyon by 4–2 and Drakaina by 3–2. Defeats against Belladonna by 1–4 and Karma by 2–5 left HBI W with two wins and two losses. [3]

HBI W met Drakaina again in the semi-finals on 3 September, losing 3–4. The team finished fourth among five entries. [1][3]

Malta Paintball's account documents the participation of Jovana with HBI W. The PBLeagues membership listing identifies the player as Jovana Roncevic and also lists Chris Cioffi among the team's staff. [1][4]

2024 Portugal Invitational

[edit]

HBI W competed at the Portugal Invitational at Megacampo in Mafra from 17 to 19 May 2024. Contemporary Portuguese reporting highlighted Maria Isabel Sousa, known as Izza, who represented HBI W alongside players from several European countries. [2]

The team lost its preliminary matches against Belladonna by 1–6, Drakaina by 2–3 and Karma by 0–5. In the Sunday semi-final, HBI W lost 0–5 to Drakaina and finished fourth among four teams. [1][5]

Documented players and staff

[edit]

The PBLeagues Members listing identifies 16 players and four staff. These are historical membership records, rather than a single event roster or confirmation of current membership. Names are reproduced as listed. [1]
