The team's precise founding date has not been established. However, contemporary newspaper reporting confirms that ADHD was competing by March 2011, preceding its registration in the [[PBLeagues]] database on 15 January 2014.[1][4]

The team's PBLeagues profile lists Auckland as its hometown and Asylum Paintball as its home field.

== Home field ==

ADHD's registered home field was [[Asylum Paintball]], located at the former Kingseat Hospital complex in Kingseat, Karaka, south of Auckland.[1]

The facility provided outdoor Sup'Air tournament fields and served as a venue for SAPC Race Series events, NZPPL tournaments and independent competitions.

Asylum's tournament facilities were used by Auckland-based teams for regular training and organised competitions throughout the 2010s.

== Competition formats ==

ADHD competed in several forms of tournament paintball.

=== Open and Pro X-Ball ===

The principal ADHD team competed in Open X-Ball and Pro X-Ball divisions.

These formats used timed matches with multiple points, generally played on fields containing inflatable tournament bunkers.

ADHD's recorded tournament victories in 2014 were achieved in these formats.

=== Division 2 X-Ball ===

The team entered Division 2 at the 2014 World Cup Asia tournament in Malaysia and the 2016 Auckland Paintball Cup.

Division classifications were determined by the organisers of the respective competitions and should not be assumed to be directly equivalent between tournaments or countries.

=== Mechanical pump ===

The ADHD RED and ADHD White squads competed in mechanical pump competitions organised by South Auckland Paintball Club.

These events used pump-action paintball markers, creating a separate equipment category from the electronic-marker X-Ball competitions.

== International competition ==

ADHD's documented international appearance took place at the 2014 Paintball World Cup Asia in Malaysia.

The tournament provided an opportunity for the team to compete against opponents outside the New Zealand domestic circuit.

ADHD placed 12th of 22 in Division 2, according to PBLeagues.[1]

The team's participation forms part of New Zealand's involvement in international paintball events in the Asia-Pacific region during the 2010s.

ADHD is a New Zealand competitive paintball team based in Auckland, with documented tournament activity from at least 2011 to 2016. The team competed in the Northland Open, New Zealand Paintball Players League (NZPPL), South Auckland Paintball Club (SAPC) competitions and Paintball World Cup Asia.[1][2][3][4]

Its recorded achievements include winning the 2011 Northland Open, a reported NZPPL tournament victory in 2012, the 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball championship and the August 2014 NZPPL Pro X-Ball event.[1][2][3][5]

ADHD was associated with Asylum Paintball in Kingseat, south of Auckland.[2][4]

History

[edit]

Early competition (2011–2013)

[edit]

The team's precise founding date has not been established. However, contemporary newspaper reporting confirms that ADHD was competing by March 2011, preceding its registration in the PBLeagues database on 15 January 2014.[1][4]

2011 Northland Open

[edit]

ADHD won the 2011 Northland Open, defeating fellow Auckland team Disposal Unit in the final at Strategy Tag Paintball in Mangapai, Northland.

The eight-team tournament was reported by the Northern Advocate in March 2011.

TPC Blast of Tauranga and Auckland's Gary Locks finished equal third after electing not to contest a third-place playoff.[1]

The report also established that ADHD and Disposal Unit had recently competed in the finals of an Auckland Super Air competition, although the results of that earlier event were not provided.

2012 NZPPL competition

[edit]

ADHD competed in the New Zealand Paintball Players League during 2012.

A retrospective report published by Asylum Paintball in 2014 credited the team with winning the opening NZPPL round of 2012.[2]

The same report listed victories at the first two SAPC events of 2012.

The original results sheets for these competitions have not been recovered, so these achievements remain attributed to the later report.

2013 season

[edit]

ADHD finished third at the 2013 NZPPL Race 2 Open Tournament, held at Blockhouse Bay Reserve, Auckland, on 31 August–1 September 2013.

The NZPPL's official results recorded the following podium:[3]

Position Team
1 X-Fighter$ Fracture
2 Sydney SWAT
3 ADHD

An Asylum Paintball report subsequently credited ADHD with winning the 2013 SAPC Race Series championship. It also reported third place at the opening Bay of Plenty three-player tournament and second place at the third SAPC event.[2]

2014 season

[edit]

ADHD competed in both SAPC and NZPPL tournaments during 2014.

Its PBLeagues profile identified Auckland as the team's hometown and Asylum Paintball as its home field.[4]

SAPC Open X-Ball championship

[edit]

ADHD won all four events in the 2014 SAPC Open X-Ball Race Series.[5]

NZPPL Pro X-Ball

[edit]

At the NZPPL Race 2-4 Event 2 tournament in Auckland on 30–31 August 2014, ADHD won the Pro X-Ball division.

The team finished first among six entrants, ahead of Trauma and The Wild Bunch.[6]

PBLeagues recorded ADHD as the leading team in the published 2014 NZPPL Pro X-Ball standings.

ADHD entered Division 2 at the 2014 Paintball World Cup Asia, held in Malaysia on 7–9 November.

The team finished 12th among 22 Division 2 competitors, earning 50.5 ranking points.[4]

This is the team's documented international tournament appearance in the recovered PBLeagues records.

2015 season

[edit]

ADHD continued competing in SAPC Open X-Ball during 2015.

The team won the opening event before recording third-, fourth- and third-place finishes in the remaining rounds.[4]

The team also competed at the Auckland Paintball Cup on 7–8 March 2015, finishing sixth among seven Open X-Ball teams.[4]

A report published by DYE documented the Australian team Hard2Overcome defeating ADHD 4–0 during that tournament. The report stated that Australian players were guesting for ADHD.[8]

ADHD was also listed at the Asylum Paintball Cup in September 2015, although PBLeagues did not publish a final placing for that entry.[4]

2016 Auckland Paintball Cup

[edit]

The team finished third among eight Division 2 X-Ball entries, earning approximately 74.29 ranking points.[4]

This is the latest tournament appearance presently listed on the team's recovered PBLeagues profile. The absence of later records does not establish that the team disbanded.
