Keith Docherty is a New Zealand paintball player and equipment supplier documented as a member of Saints in a contemporary profile preserved in February 1998. He was associated with Kiwi Paintball, an Auckland-based equipment sales and repair business, and previously played for Dragons Claw and The Goodies.[1][2][3]

Playing career

[edit]

Docherty's New Zealand Paintball profile states that he discovered paintball through a company social game and had been involved in the sport for approximately seven years at the time of the interview.[1]

He played for The Goodies, followed by Dragons Claw, before joining Saints. The profile does not establish his membership dates or identify a particular Saints squad.[1]

Kiwi Paintball

[edit]

The contemporary New Zealand Paintball field and store directory named Docherty as the contact for Kiwi Paintball, describing it as a home-based equipment supplier in its Auckland section.[2]

Kiwi Paintball's own website advertised paintball equipment sales and repairs. It offered to source items not held in stock, including equipment not generally available in New Zealand, through international contacts.[3]

Its archived deals page advertised markers including the PGP, Tagmaster, Angel, Edge, Spyder and Automag. Some packages included accessories such as loaders, barrel plugs, gas cylinders or parts kits.[4]

Equipment and views

[edit]

Docherty identified the PGP as his preferred marker because he favoured stock-class play. He advocated a revival of stock-class competition and suggested limiting the amount of paint players could carry to reduce the financial disadvantage faced by some teams.[1]

He also supported developing more teams and strengthening paintball's social aspects to attract new players.[1]
