2024 ICPL season

The 2024 ICPL season was the sixth season of the International Classic Paintball League. Its United States programme included regional and affiliate tournaments, the Texas Classic major and a concluding Classic Cup held from 31 January to 2 February 2025.[1][2]

Image won professional ten-player at the concluding Cup. Louisville Asylum was identified by equipment sponsor DYE as the 2024 Open five-player series champions. The Cup tournament results and season championship awards were separate achievements.[3][4]

Organisation and formats

The league operated a programme of major and affiliate tournaments. Its website, archived shortly after the concluding Cup in February 2025, separately labelled these as its 2024–25 major and affiliate events.[5]

Team Smoke's contemporary season account described the championship calculation as using a team's best minor result, its major result and its championship result. PBLeagues specified that the three highest ten-player scores counted, with no more than one regional result included.[1][6]

Professional and amateur teams could share playing brackets at minor tournaments while retaining separate classification results. Team Smoke contrasted this with major tournaments, where teams played within their respective divisions.[6]

The divisions offered varied between events. Ten-player classifications included Professional and Amateur, while five-player competition included Open and Amateur. The Lone Star Open additionally offered Amateur B classifications.[7–14]

The archived league overview described capture-the-flag competition on woodland, hyperball, mounds and hybrid fields. Its published marker provisions permitted mechanical markers and electronic markers capped at 5.5 balls per second.[5]

January 2025 Classic Cup

The January Classic Cup concluded the 2024 championship despite taking place in the following calendar year. PBLeagues includes its results in the 2024 season standings.[1]

Advance publicity announced the tournament for 31 January–2 February at Tiki's Paintball Park, 210 Pruett Road, Seffner. PBLeagues identifies the venue at that address as Thunder Valley Paintball Park.[14][15]

This tournament was separate from the October 2025 Classic Cup, whose results counted towards the 2025 ICPL season.[16]

Texas Classic

Heavy rain and flooding affected the Texas Classic at Cousins Paintball. Contemporary reporting described water encroaching onto the playing fields before receding during the tournament.[17]

ac EMPIRE won professional ten-player ahead of Image and Chicago Aftershock. AAF won Amateur ten-player, while AAF 2 won Amateur five-player.[10]

PBLeagues ranked Louisville Asylum first and Florida Annihilators second in Open five-player. Cheryl Ellis's contemporary report for Paintball Media, however, described the two teams as tying for gold. The published classification and reported shared tournament honour therefore differ.[10][17]

Lone Star Open

Texas Storm won Amateur B ten-player ahead of PPS and ac GALAXY. ac GALAXY won Amateur B five-player, followed by SVNT1 Factory and Old Fat Ninjas.[13]

The Amateur ten-player results listed both ac EVILpb.com and Hydra.Fit first, each receiving 100 ranking points.[13]

Concluding Classic Cup

Image won professional ten-player ahead of ac EMPIRE and Team Smoke. Dark Carnival won Amateur ten-player ahead of LOCKOUT and AAF.[14]

FARSIDE won Open five-player, followed by Louisville Asylum and East Koast Ops. AAF 2 won Amateur five-player ahead of Roadies Factory and AAF 3.[14]

DYE's report confirmed Image's professional tournament victory. Its separate account explicitly identified Louisville Asylum as the 2024 Open five-player series champions.[3][4]

Season championship records

Louisville Asylum's Open five-player season title is explicitly documented in DYE's championship report following the January Cup.[4]

The surviving PBLeagues records separate results under Classic and unprefixed division labels. Pro DNA, Pittsburgh and some Lone Star results appear in different tables from major and championship results. Consequently, the displayed table leaders and subtotals do not constitute a single consolidated season classification.[1]

For example, Image's 485-point total in the table labelled Classic – Pro 10v10 includes Las Vegas, Texas and the Cup. ac EMPIRE's Texas and Cup results appear in that table, while its regional results appear separately. The tables should therefore not be used independently to identify an overall professional champion.[1]
