Tomcats, also recorded as Tom Cats, was an Australian tournament paintball team from New South Wales. The team reached the amateur finals at the 1996 Australian Masters and finished third in the amateur division of the 1998 Australian Seven-Player Paintball Championships.[1][2][3] == History == === 1995 competition === Tomcats competed at the Sydney Skirmish Sevens at Ultimate Skirmish Game in Yarramundi in April 1995 but did not advance beyond the preliminary stage.[4] Entries named Tomcats Red and Tomcats Blue also competed in the amateur division of the 1995 Australian Three-Man Speedball Championships at Heartbreak Ridge Paintball on 5 November 1995. The contemporary report does not establish their final placings.[5] Tomcats placed third in Australian Paintballers national amateur rankings for the 1995 season, receiving 62.00 ranking points.[3] === 1996 Australian Masters === Tomcats competed in the amateur division of the 1996 Australian Masters at Skirmish Adventures in Helensburgh, New South Wales.[1] The team qualified for the four-team amateur finals alongside Vengeance, Black Widows and Acme. The contemporary report identifies Tomcats as a finalist but does not establish its final placing.[1] === 1998 Australian Seven-Player Championships === Tomcats competed among eight amateur teams at the 1998 Australian Seven-Player Paintball Championships at Yarramundi.[2] The team finished fourth in the amateur preliminary standings with 335 points, qualifying for the finals. It defeated Wasp during the finals and finished third overall with 120 points.[2] == Leadership and league representation == John Arronis identified himself as Tomcats' captain in correspondence published in June–July 1995.[6] In 1996, Arronis was listed as vice-president of the Australasian Paintball Players League, with Tomcats given as his team affiliation.[7] == Recorded results == {| class="wikitable" !
